Every January brings a time where I can breathe in between all of the work that still needs to be done. It is a time where my mind wanders and dreams of what’s to come. It is a time where I want to catch up with Gabe and Claire…experience their world a bit more. The fall is such a busy time for us that there are times where the camera doesn’t approach their faces at all…and that bothers me.
I somehow came across Kristen Cook’s photography blog. It may have been a random find, but for me it was perfect timing. Each year she does something called ‘Photo-A-Day’ where she takes a photo of her children every day for the month of January. I loved this idea and decided to embark on it. I know it will be something that I can look back on years from now allowing my heart to relive one month with them at these ages…the missing tooth, the expressions, all of it.

Claire was actually full of smiles before this photo. All she wanted was for me to open her Luna Bar. Yes, you heard me right. ;) 
Gabe’s photo happened a bit later…his schedule is a bit different since he is in school.
